'My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding': 14-Year Old Finds Groom Who 'Smells Good'

Based on Twitter reactions, it looks like a lot of the appeal of "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding" (Sun., 10 p.m. ET on TLC) is just how strange it is. Certainly, it's coming from a very different place culturally than most Americans.

For example, Priscilla took center stage as a 14-year old who was ready to seek out a husband. So she put on a skimpy little outfit to emphasize her "purity" at a party her parents threw to help her find a mate.

And, being 14-years old, Priscilla found a man based on the criteria one might expect a young teenager to use. "He didn’t do one disrespectful thing to me the whole night," she smiled to the cameras while dancing with him. "And he smells good and he looks good." That about wraps up the good husband criteria.

But while fans were mesmerized, not everyone was happy. The Houston Press called the show a "trainwreck," with the writer going so far as to say it was difficult to continue writing about such a terrible show.
