Alex Wullaert, 22, allegedly strangled his pit bull after it urinated on his leg.

A pissed off Connecticut man was arrested this week after he allegedly strangled his pit bull-boxer mix to death because the animal peed on him.

Branford resident Alex Wullaert, 22, reportedly confessed to choking his pet at his house after it urinated on his leg and bit him, according to WTNH.

On March 11, a local resident found the dead dog's body stuffed in a plastic bag and discarded in the woods by a lake. Cops investigated the corpse and found Wullaert's name embedded in the dog's microchip.

The dog died in January, police said.

Wullaert also allegedly confessed to putting the dog in a bag and throwing it away, NBC reported.

Wullaert was charged with cruelty to animals and littering. He was released on a written promise to appear at his next court hearing on May 15.

Dog breeds are not hereditary "biters"

A more aggressive breed of dog will not neccessarily bite a lot (as most people think)

It all depends on the owner...a perfectly nice dog can be turned nasty by having the wrong owner.

you can never blame the dog for being "evil" it is always the owners fault...

People should feel bad about turning this into an argument about pit bulls, instead of being concerned about the facts of the case and how dangerous this person is. It was discovered, that this wasn't just any dog. It was his ex girlfriend's dog. She had surrendered the dog to a shelter, and the then the dog was transferred to another rescue. He was BELOVED by staff at both facilities. This guy sought him out, adopted him, tortured and killed him. He had also previously been charged with trying to choke his ex girlfriend. Why is anyone questioning if the dog was aggressive?! The dog was the victim! I think it's pretty clear who you should be afraid of. This guy didn't even get the maximum sentence. And the guy has a child. Great. Let's bring more pyscho killers into this world. Stop blaming the dogs!!

Yesterday, he was granted Accelerated Rehabilitation by the court. It would be great if the HP could run a new story on it.

If he can strangle a dog to death for peeing on him, what will he do to a little baby who might spit up on him? This kind of behavior is a warning sign of future actions of this young man.

I don't like what he has done, but I think the punishment needs to fit the crime. The cries for his death ( or for him to be locked up for years ) are extreme. Lets remember, he killed a dog, not a person. I love animals but I will not hold a dog's life at the same value as a persons.

The sad thing is, he will probably get in more trouble for littering than anything else. Animal cruelty laws are a joke in this country... look at Michael Vick, back on the field making millions. It's disgusting!

Another young man with a violent temper and a complete inability to control it. Tragic that the poor dog had to die over it. I only hope he gets some mandatory inpatient time in a mental hospital, because this kid is dangerous. This was an insane reaction.

Give me 5 minutes alone with him. He won't ever do it again. I promise.

People who think Pit Bulls are dangerous need to educate themselves. I have 2 and they are sweethearts. All they want is to be loved. Yes, if you would abuse them they would probably defend themselves. But what animal or human wouldn't? Ban ignorance, not the breed.

some people shouldnt own any pets regardless the breed.

He did the right thing. initially the dog pee on the owner and subsequently kills the owner. Good preemptive strike by the owner.

being dog trainers...ahh, no! been training dogs for over 12 yrs. and this dog was clearly being abused. starved, left alone 12 hrs a day!???? broken ribs, teeth??? was fine in the shelter. if he were aggressive they would not have had him up for adoption. pit bulls are no different than any other breed. if they are beaten and abused, they will respond negatively towards that person. if they are treated with love, guidance, respect, they will respond that way..
