Chris Christie Won't Say Whether He'll Seek Re-election

Chris Christie

By GEOFF MULVIHILL   05/08/12 02:50 PM ET  AP

FREEHOLD, N.J. -- The political world has gotten used to hearing New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie dodge questions about whether he's running for a job in Washington.

He was just as coy Tuesday about whether he's running for re-election in his home state next year.

A boy who attended a town hall that Christie held in Freehold asked him the question. The governor said he loves the job but not the constant attention it brings him. Christie said he would need to discuss a run with his family and would decide by early next year.

The Republican has said repeatedly that he does not have designs on running for vice president, but last week said Mitt Romney might be able to persuade him.

Not a fan but, If he declares it, people will immediately say he's campaigning instead being Governor.

He admits he is interested in both the Vice Pres. now and the Presidency in 2016...guess he thinks he will get less attention then????

He is not qualified to be VP ergo not qualified to be President. He's had less experience than Palin. He has no foreign policy exp. No Hill experience. He brings nothing to the ticket. He's another Northeasterner. And his health would be an issue out of the gate.

Not happening. If it does, then Romney really is as dumb as he looks.

But it won't take long for that "presence" to be overshadowed by his tremendous lack of depth. I would give that tour about a week before the balloon burst. And Romney would be really uncomfortable with him on the ticket. Bad marriage.

He is painfully one-dimensional. There isn't much there at all. He's not nuanced in any way, and maybe he's street-smart for Jersey but it won't translate nationally. They can go that way but seriously can you imagine him in a debate with Joe Biden who had 30 yrs in the senate with key appts on the Judiciary and Foreign Relations committees . . .

He won't be reelected, especially after he prevented a growth in employment stemming from the NY-NJ tunnel. The guy impoverished his state to advance his political career.

Keeping quiet. What a heavy load.

Christie should be recalled as well. How is he any different from Walker?
