Mary Martin's Former Home Listed At $10.5 Million (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: This House Once Belonged To 'Peter Pan'

Nobody shot J.R. in this house, but it did once belong to actor Larry Hagman's mother, the one-time Broadway star Mary Martin -- you know, Peter Pan. Now, several decades and owners later, it is listed for sale for $10.5 million and hopefully will soon be "flying" off the market.

The house, nicknamed "Peter Pan" after its former owner, is a 1928 Tudor that sits on about an acre. There is a guesthouse and swimming pool and lots of period details, including leaded glass windows and a gabled roof. The listing counts seven bedrooms -- five in the main house and two in the guest quarters.

The home is the work of architect Austen Pierpont and is located in a Los Angeles neighborhood steeped in the history of the entertainment and literary industries. Richard Halliday, a Paramount Studios executive and married to Martin, bought the house in 1940 for $42,500, according to the Los Angeles Times, which reported the sale at the time. Other records indicate that the house was again sold about two years later.

Martin died in 1990 at 76.

Neil Smith of Heritage Probate & Trust is the listing agent.
