Jason Ripley Arrested For Alleged Abduction, Torture Of Woman In Arkansas

Sabrina Morton tells a local Arkansas station about the kidnapping and torture allegedly carried out by Jason Ripley.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Arkansas authorities say a woman who was allegedly held against her will and tortured before escaping went with her alleged assailant willingly and was not forcibly abducted, as she initially reported.

Garland County sheriff's department spokesman Lt. James Martin said Wednesday that the woman initially told investigators a man abducted her Thursday from a friend's home and held her against her will until she escaped Saturday.

But Martin says she later told investigators she went there willingly and that the man wouldn't let her leave on Saturday.

Martin says investigators believe Jason Ripley beat the woman and burned her with a torch and cigarettes.

Ripley was arrested at an eastern Tennessee motel early Wednesday on preliminary charges of kidnapping and first-degree battery. A relative says he doesn't have a lawyer.

I'm really glad she escaped and is somewhat okay, however I disagree with her saying that you can never trust a friend.

Simple ... stop hanging out and associating yourself with hooligans or drug heads, Sabrina and you'll be okay. Friends don't do these things to you ... or anyone else for that matter!!

A woman may willing go on a date or to a function and then if the man becomes violent or forces things it becomes an entirely different situation. Most women feel guilt if they went on the date or with them willingly. Agreement to have a dinner or a movie is not an agreement to be used or abused though.

She calls him her best friend...how long had she known him? She states he kidnapped her but then takes that back saying she went to him...liar/confused? Then she said there was another man and woman there and they helped him torture her? Did she know them? She said the three were inside the trailer cleaning up her blood and she was outside still tied up but managed to get away and run three miles for help...first off did she get loose from her bindings or run still bound? If so either way to run 3 miles would take a while - this is in a rural area so she probably only had a few choices as to where to go...why didn't these three people try to go and find her....if she was bleeding they would have been able to see the blood trail wouldn't they?

I don't know this doesn't make sense to me and her changing the story makes me question her truthfulness...

Hope she heals and if this is in fact how things happend that they find him and identify and find the other two people involved.

Headline and story backwards??? Why is the headline not "Sabrina Morton Arrested for Lying About Alleged Abduction and Torture"...with the story providing details of Ripley's arrest for the abuse? But don't misunderstand...I wouldn't suggest a weekend picnic in the park with EITHER of them!!!
