Will Ferrell's 'SNL' Promos: Star Returns To His Former Show (VIDEO)

WATCH: Will Ferrell 'SNL' Promos

Will Ferrell is returning to his old stomping grounds at "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, and based on new promos released by NBC, audiences will see Ferrell exploring new comedic territory, and not relying on old characters from his days at "SNL."

Coupled with Jason Sudeikis, Ferrell goofs around Studio 8H, running a stationary race with Sudeikis and showing off a brand new fur broach. His musical guest will be Usher.

The comedy superstar has been able to avoid many of the career pitfalls that haunt ex-"SNL" stars. Ten years after leaving the sketch show, Ferrell remained very busy. This summer, he starred in "Casa de mi Padre" and had a cameo in "Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie," which he also executive produced on behalf of his website Funny Or Die.

In the fall, he'll co-star in the political satire "The Campaign" opposite Zach Galifianakis. But perhaps his most anticipated next move is "Anchorman 2," which Ferrell announced on "Conan" in March in character as Ron Burgundy.

This weekend's "SNL" marks the second-to-last of the show's 37th season. Mick Jagger will host the season finale.

What sketches do you hope Ferrell reprises on "SNL" this weekend?
