'Avengers' Stars High School Yearbook Photos Show Actors Before They Were Superheroes

PHOTO: How The 'Avengers' Stars Looked Back In High School

Our favorite "Avengers" characters weren't always superheroes. Back in the day, they were normal high school students, probably counting down the days to summer vacation.

An image collage posted on Reddit shows what the actors who would go on to portray characters like Captain America and Iron Man looked like long before they were fending off evil.

The display includes photos of Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner -- complete with mullets, questionable fashion choices and bright-eyed smiles -- to make up the fictional "Avengers" High School yearbook.

But it wasn't a straight shot to the top for some of the "Avengers" actors.

Before they starred in the blockbuster hit, some spent their teenage years trying to make a name for themselves in Hollywood.

It was during his time in high school that Chris Evans decided he wanted to become a professional actor, according to his biography on IMBD. The Massachusetts-born actor soon moved to New York City for an internship and began auditioning for roles after he finished school.

Shortly after graduating high school, Scarlett Johansson landed a role alongside Billy Murray in the 2003 film "Lost in Translation," according to People magazine. The former child actor already had a few gigs under her belt, but the adult role proved to be a hit, earning her a Golden Globe nomination and numerous subsequent roles.
