Susan Goodell, the CEO of food rescue charity Forgotten Harvest, was on the hunt for a partner in food — a company with heft on the manufacturing side, like ConAgra, the Omaha, Neb.-based food conglomerate.
Goodell was in Omaha on a business trip, when a food scientist friend suggested she call ConAgra executive Gail Tavill. "I didn't know why I was calling her exactly," said Goodell, "but it was worth a try."
