Attachment Parenting: 9 Celebrities Who Could Qualify As Attachment Moms

The magazine world's latest scandal is this Time magazine cover, which offended people left and right with its portrayal of a fit blonde mother openly breast-feeding her three-year-old child. "Why attachment parenting drives some mothers to extremes -- and how Dr. Bill Sears became their guru," the cover reads, presumably Time's angle into the controversial parenting philosophy on the rise.

But celebrity moms in Hollywood have been championing aspects of attachment parenting for some time -- from Jennifer Garner and Alicia Silverstone to Beyonce. Below, some principles of attachment parenting, as presented by celebrity mom.

• Beyonce

  One of attachment parenting's principles is to use a sling, not a stroller. Beyonce, who became a mom on January 7 when she gave birth to Blue Ivy Carter, has been seen around Tribeca walking her baby girl in <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/13/beyonce-blue-ivy-out_n_1341159.html" target="_hplink">normal slings</a> and in amazing <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/28/beyonces-fur-baby-sling_n_1384641.html" target="_hplink">fur-covered slings</a>, too. <br><br> (Bauergriffin)

  Mother-of-three Jennifer Garner is a famous advocate of breast-feeding. Upon receiving the Female Star of the Year award at the CinemaCon 2012 Awards Ceremony in April, Garner said: <br><br> "I told my mom the other day I was getting this award ... She [mom] said, 'Can they take this back? • Gisele Bundchen

  Gisele gave birth to her baby boy (in December 2009) <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1247718/Supermodel-Gisele-Bundchen-claims-son-Benjamins-birth-didnt-hurt-slightest.html" target="_hplink">in a water bath at home</a> in Boston. <br><br> Another person who breast-feeds, the Brazilian supermodel told <em>Harper's Bazaar UK</em>: "Some people here (in the U.S.) think they don't have to breastfeed, and I think 'Are you going to give chemical to your child when they are so little?'   Family slumber party, or just what attachment parenters call co-sleeping? <br><br> "Right now, Pax is sleeping in our bed.
