Spring Shoes: 8 Reasons To Ditch Flip-Flops This Season (PHOTOS)

8 Warm Weather Shoes That Aren't Flip-Flops

Ladies, let's make a promise to ourselves: let's never wear flip-flops unless we absolutely have to. Which means public showers and hitting the beach, not to the office or a night on the town. Don't get us wrong, we're loyal fans of open-toed footwear (especially on hot, humid days,) but something about flip-flops downgrades an entire look. (Plus, they're extremely dangerous!)

"I'm all in favor of ditching flip flops," said Melissa Liebling-Goldberg of Gilt.com. "The style that really stands out to me is T-strap sandal -- you still have the same openness of a flip-flop, but more support." Liebling-Goldberg continued, "Flip-flops are unflattering because they cut your foot in half, a T-strap makes the foot look longer, as does a nude-colored sandal."

But what about sandals for an evening soiree? "If you want to be more covered, gladiator-style sandals are a perfect option. They can be a bit more dressy -- perfect for morning, noon and night."

With Liebling-Goldberg's advice in mind, we perused the Stylelist Blogger Network for the best alternatives to boring flip-flops or sandals. From sky-high wedges to ankle-strap stunners, let's just say we've already booked our next pedicure.
