America's Favorite Store-Bought Cookies

Posted: 05/14/2012 12:39 pm

Last week, we shared America's favorite fast food chains, based on a poll by market research firm Harris Interactive. The poll, which uses an "academically vetted brand equity model," took into account about 20 different cookie brands.

The average score of all cookie brands was 65.47, with Archway Cookies, Famous Amos Chocolate Chip Cookies, Keebler Chips Deluxe, Keebler Pecan Sandies, Keebler Vanilla Wafers, Keebler Vienna Fingers, Lofthouse Frosted Sugar Cookies, Mother's Cookies, Mrs. Fields Cookies, Nabisco Newtons, Nabisco Nutter Butter Cookies, Nabisco SnackWells, Voortman Cookies all hitting below that average.

Eight brands, however, scored above that metric. See America's favorite store-bought cookies below:

I've had good luck with sticking to corn, potato, rice, and tapioca, as my main gluten free diet gluten intolerance symptoms

. First I found some starches to be gluten free but then found out it depends on the type of starch. So many things to keep in mind…

I've heard of people trying to lose weight on a gluten free diet. For me gluten intolerance is a very serious problem that results in pain and cramps. If I eat just a small bite of a sandwich my day is ruined and the symptoms come back. I've been symptom free for years now based on a very strict gluten free diet..

I'll admit when I was eating enough for 4 people, I gorged on Pepperidge Farm cookies until I puked. But Oreos always gave me severe indigestion.

None of these products are healthy, but people who buy these items are not looking for svelte in the mirror. They're looking to satisfy a craving, a yen. I thankfully stopped eating this crap and lost about l30 pounds.

I will say anything Pepperidge Farm makes is good and I let them know. Wouldn't you know, they sent me a lot of coupons for free cookies!

Oreos are good. Newman's Own sandwich cookies are better.

What a coincidence! I just had a Chocolate Marshmallow Oreo frozen custard in a waffle cone today at a local Culver's Restaurant and I must say, it was very delicous.

Animal cookies are the best because you can pretend you are in the jungle chasing and catching them and so many to use from ! Rocketman

My favorite cookies used to be Almost Home peanut butter with chocolate icing. I loved them! Now I have to eat gluten free and bake everything myself because nothing that's gluten free and on the shelves is any good. Sad.

Right about that, and you don't get enough in the box. But they are good.

Of all the top 8 cookies, I only like Nilla Wafers (when I make banana pudding or bourbon balls) and the Pepperidge Farms Milanos. I used to love Famous Amos choc chip cookies UNTIL somewhere in the 90's another company bought them and they changed the recipe (like took out the real butter, for one thing). I believe Famous Amos ownership has changed several times...and they DON'T taste good. The store-bought Mrs. Fields cookies never did taste like the ones you bought at the mall in the 80s and 90s. I also like Oreos...but not the nasty filling. So I never buy Oreos because it's too much trouble scraping that stuff off. I also used to like Archway's Windmill cookies...but they no longer have that old great taste...obviously the recipe changed...probably to bring down production costs. Oh, one cookie I have dearly loved the past few years is "La Dolce Vita Biscotti." They are made from the kind of ingredients good cooks would have at home, like real butter, sugar, eggs, and LOADED with almonds. I get them from Costco in large jars, and always have some in the house. I never get tired of them.

I don't like Pepperidge Farm at all but love the Pillsbury (the kind you bake in the oven)
