Gary Coleman's Ex-Wife Shannon Price Dealt Blow In Bid For Actor's Estate

05/14/12 09:00 PM ET AP

SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah judge has dealt a blow to a bid by Gary Coleman's ex-wife to gain control of the late child TV star's estate.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports () Judge James Taylor ruled Monday that Coleman and Shannon Price didn't have a common-law marriage, despite living together after they divorced. http://bit.ly/J68ZK3

Coleman died of a brain hemorrhage in 2010. Taylor is deciding whether Price or Coleman's ex-girlfriend Anna Gray is entitled to his estate.

The judge says Price moved out of Coleman's home multiple times after their 2008 divorce and the couple didn't give a public impression of marriage.

Price has said she and Coleman "couldn't be without each other," even after their divorce. Gray managed Coleman's affair for years and says Coleman named her a beneficiary and executor of his estate in 2005.

At stake is a house worth more than $300,000, intellectual rights to some of Coleman's works and the "Diff'rent Strokes" star's ashes.

Shannon Price hurt no one. He had a unlikely fall that no one could have seen coming including Shannon. Nothing personal alot of you guys who claim Shannon had some motive to hurt Gary are very odd and need some serious help. you sit at home alone and think of odd crap like this.

Poor guy. Everyone picked him clean when he was alive, he had a disease which left him with the body of a child, was more a less looked at as a joke in Hollywood after Different Strokes, and had to live with an abusive ex wife whom he was most likely killed by. Even after death there are people are fighting for the remains. I hope the coverage of this case inspires police to reopen the investigation of his death and I hope it leads to a homicide charge for Shannon Price.

GOOD, that she was denied... If we are to believe her own words.....her behavior was strange when he died.....

Why should the ex-wife, or ex-girlfriend either one receive his 'estate?' They're both gold diggers. Another reminder of why everyone should have a will.

If he wasn't married and he didn't specify we're his estate should go, it has to go to his family, even if they are blood suckers.

Finally a little Justice in the World! The way Price treated him and now wants to be the Grieving Widow, Hope all she gets is a hard time and thrown off the Estate.

Gary Coleman worked most of his young life and made millions. Everyone stole from this poor guy including his parents. EVERYONE...

His financial situation was so desperate that he was working as a security guard at one point towards the end of his life. After the body of work he was involved in and all the financial "advisors" he had, his estate was reduced to a house worth 300K and a bit of intellectual property.

It sounds strange, but maybe its better that he didn't leave much behind for the vultures to pick over.

I believe this woman killed that poor man. The sad thing, is she actually believes she entitled to something. I'm truly sorry that Gary didn't believe he deserved someone better than this.

Everyone I know including me thinks the same thing. If Gary had found someone who was good to him, I think he would have probably still be with us today!

Even in death Gary Coleman is being exploited and taken advantage of. What a sad existence he had, and now his gold digging EX-wife who watched him die rather than call 911 immediately wants to cash in....again?

There is a special place "down below" for people like her.
