Donald Trump's Prenup Advice To Mark Zuckerberg: Agree To $1 Million (VIDEO)

Trump On Zuckerberg Prenup

From questioning the president's birth certificate to calling Cher and Rosie O'Donnell losers, there's no shortage of things (or people) about which Donald Trump has something to say.

Now, Trump is opining on one subject with which he's very familiar: prenups. And more specifically, Mark Zuckerberg's prenup, should he marry his girlfriend.

After talking about JP Morgan's Jamie Diamond on CNBC's "Squawk Box" -- a topic Trump called "so boring" in comparison to what Zuckerberg would do in the event that he got married -- he started running through hypotheticals:

"So he's gonna be worth like $18, $19 billion, you're telling me he's got a girlfriend ... does he get a prenuptial agreement?" Trump said. "They get married, and then for some reason over the next couple of years they get divorced and then she sues him for $10 billion and she hits the jackpot ... In New York, she would get a big chunk of what he has."

Trump said he wanted to know who would handle the matter, that he'd like to look at the agreement, and that he himself would "one of the great professionals" to advise on the subject.

Co-anchor Andrew Ross Sorkin asked Trump what an "equitable" amount would be, to which Trump replied, "I'm notoriously cheap with these things, okay, because I think if she made $1 million, that would be very good."

This isn't the first time Trump has spoken out on the issue of prenups: When he gave a speech to 7,000 people in Melbourne last fall, his financial advice was to always get a prenup.

Trump's own ex-wife, Ivana, reportedly tried to challenge their prenuptial agreement -- which limited her to $25 million -- but failed in her effort.

Huh. I would have thought Trump's advice was to offer showing his genitals to some high-powered female attorney before proposing marriage.

I'm sure Mr Zuckerberg has many better-qualified advisers.

It's funny how when it's the woman that has all the money, the FIRST thing they do is get a prenup, and nobody ever criticizes them for it, but when a Man does it he is called cheap.Total Double Standard.

A prenup is like car insurance. It is very rare for anyone getting married to plan on divorce. Divorce in the beginning of a marriage is almost never planned. If you have a 60% of having a car accident (also never planned), it is wise to get car insurance. The same applies to prenups. It's like car insurance. I think it is very romantic when one is signed too. When someone signs a prenup, it is a strong statement that they are marrying purely for love and not with a hidden agenda of getting money.

Is that what your husband told you, when you signed it? That's a good one, I'd try to remember that, but I'm already married, and staying that way.

So all you people are saying Zuckerberg shouldn't get a prenup?

Haha, the guy is worth billions. It is perfectly prudent for him to get one.

My advice to Mark Zuckerberg. Don't listen to anything that Trump says.

Out of all the garbage that come out of trumps mouth, this one is actually sound advice. Maybe not $1 million, that's just being cheap for cheapness' sake. I'd say $25 million is perfectly fair, it ensures she would be set for life just living off interest, but doesn't give her incentive to marry just for a big fat divorce payday.

And it's not like she wouldn't have a say in it. She could put a rider that it increases to say $250 million if Zuckerburg is caught cheating. It's not like he'd be able to deny it. You know photos of something like that would immediately go on facebook.

Prenup keeps everyone honest.

Perfect, I was blocked on WHAT advice would you want from DT?

Yet another desperate attempt to stay relevant.

Not bad advice considering. He is right though, with the rate of divorces and how often people try to clean each other out afterwards a prenup wouldn't be a stupid idea.
Though I don't agree with his birther stance.

Trump doesn't really appear to be in a position to give advice on anything. He's not even a successful businessman.

Always have a contract before tying the knot, regardless if you are a billionaire, millionaire or just a member of the 99%. Clearly spell out the terms beforehand on a legal contract as to what happens when the marriage fails. Lastly, couples must keep their money individually in separate portfolios with only a joint bank account for house expenses.

If Zuckerberg is asking Trump for advice (of any kind), he's in trouble.

A better story - Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have been good friends for a number of years. When Bill Gates was getting married, he asked Warren for advice. Warren told him that when he got married he spent 5% of his wealth on the wedding ring and suggested that Gates do the same. Of course, when Buffet got married his total wealth was just a few thousand dollars. At the time Gates got married, if he had followed Buffet's advice the wedding ring would have cost almost $500,000,000.
