Nancy Pelosi: The Democrats $43-Million Weapon

Posted: 05/15/2012 11:35 am

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., became the most powerful woman in American history when she was sworn in as Speaker of the House in 2007. She lost that power four years later and is now hell-bent on winning it back. Spinners and Winners caught up with Pelosi on her early morning power walk by the Potomac River.

** She [Pelosi] lost that power four years later and is now hell-bent on winning it back. **

Never happen. Pelosi was the most divisive Speaker in history (even trumping Newt). Congressional Democrats would't back her again..She was a disaster.

Just in case I'm missing something here...all I see on this article is a single paragraph:

"Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., became the most powerful woman in American history when she was sworn in as Speaker of the House in 2007. She lost that power four years later and is now hell-bent on winning it back. Spinners and Winners caught up with Pelosi on her early morning power walk by the Potomac River."

Nothing to explain the title, no link to additional text, no "Page #2"...what's the deal? Anyone else have this issue?

Really don't care about Pelosi winning "her" position back, it's the priciples, not the person. She should really be more "hellbent" on the American people winning and the positon should just be the means, not the end.

We're all aware of how the GOP has dumbed down their women folk in the last few decades and that dumbing down is demonstrated by the demonization they have shown to Speaker Pelosi and all of her considerable accomplishment.

well, 2012 is shaping up to be another banner wave election for the GOP......while the conservatives have been busy cleaning out the old dead wood in their own party ......the Dems kept the very same people in charge in who caused their House debacle in 2010 - Pelosi, Hoyer and Clayburn.........it makes a good poster of statism.

What caused the left to lose the House in 2010 was smoke and mirrors, Blue Dawgs, and low voter turnout. Stick to the facts.

The Republicans gained SIXTY-ONE House seats in 2010. You keep telling yourself it was smoke-n-mirrors, blue dawgs and low voter turnout.......and watch while Republicans do it again in 2012 AND take over the Senate. When are Dems in the House going to put the blame where it belongs........ squarely at the leadership who engineered the continuing debacle in the first place?

President Obama’s claim that the GOP is mounting a war on women has proven to be a failure. A month into his assault on the Republicans and Mitt Romney, the new CBS-New York Times poll shows that the GOP presidential candidate now leads among women--and men.

Since April, women have gone from strongly backing Obama to endorsing Romney. In April, Obama held a 49 percent to 43 percent lead among women. That has now flipped to 46 percent backing Romney with 44 percent for Obama, an 8-point switch.

Ironically, Romney’s support among men has dropped, but he still edges Obama 45 percent to 42 percent.

And here’s a surprise: Despite the media hyping the so-called war on women, no major outlet today noticed Romney’s new lead with women voters.

“This is unbelievable,” said conservative consultant Greg Mueller. “The CBS story manages to not mention the change in women numbers,” he said, adding sarcastically. “No media bias here -- Obama is getting fluffy stories about his commencement speech to women at Barnard -- so we better bury the reality.”

It's not that no one notices the poll, it's just that no one believes the poll. The CBS poll is an opt in re-poll of previously polled voters.

NEW YORK — President Barack Obama wouldn’t give himself a letter grade for his handling of the economy and instead leaned on what’s become his crutch when asked to grade his presidency.

“I think it’s still incomplete. We’ve still got work to do,” he said on ABC’s “The View,” in an interview that aired Tuesday morning.

It’s not the first time Obama’s given himself a non-grade when faced with the question.

Asked to grade his administration in the summer of 2010, Obama told CBS News ”it’s incomplete.” He added: Because until the economy has rebounded fully and people are feeling better, you know, we’ve got a long way to go.”

And he said so again in October, telling ABC News he’d give himself an “incomplete” because “the work that we started is not yet done.”

What he was saying is true; however, if he loses reelection, then his job will be completed and he could issue a grade. If he is reelected, the grade will come after the completion of that term. Maybe a better way to have structured the question was to ask for a 'progress report'.

It speaks volumes about liberals, in that they will follow this woman, at any cost. Her tenure as Speaker was one of a contentious, biased, leftist-style of govenance that Americans will never forget....disgraceful performance. She has spent way too much time in Washington, and has an accumulated personal net worth that shows who she is really working for - herself. History will show that she, Harry and Barack were personally responsible for an enormous amount of debt and divisiveness that will take years to recover from.

Obviously your disdain for the left involves more than history, as you completely skipped the Bush years and their 'effect' on that debt and divisiveness you wrote about.

The conservatives in these threads always completely ignore Bush. It's like they were on Mars for 8 years and then returned. It amazes me that they scream about "spending" and "debt" when both were much worse under Bush. I can only figure that they're either paid shills or they're amazingly stupid people.

I hope she becomes Speaker again.
Boehner has been a complete failure, worst Speaker & worst congress in the history of the U.S since 2010.

Since you are only considering the last 2 years -- "worst Speaker & worst congress in the history of the U.S since 2010" -- then it would also be the best Congress and the Best Speaker.
