Tonya Thomas Shooting: 911 Call Details Port St. John Mom's Alleged Murder-Suicide (AUDIO)

Tonya Thomas is accused of fatally shooting her four children before taking her own life.

Authorities in Florida released audio on Wednesday of a 911 call placed during an alleged murder-suicide by a mother shooting her four children.

Tonya Thomas, 33, called three of her children -- who sought help from neighbors -- back into the house before firing the fatal gunshots around 4:50 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

"I knew this was going to happen," a female neighbor tells the police dispatcher approximately 55 seconds into the call. "The boy is in our front lawn and he's got blood on his right side."

The neighbor also reports several instances of gunfire during the 911 dialogue.

"From what the neighbors said, she was very calm. She walked out and called them back. They turned around and walked back to the house," said Lt. Tod Goodyear, a spokesman for the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

One of the neighbors who speaks with the dispatcher, a father, tells authorities that he is armed and can be heard ordering his children to stand away from the door.

Authorities identified the killed children as Pebbles Johnson, 17; Jaxs Johnson, 15; Jazzlyn Johnson, 13; and Joel Johnson, 12.

What a sad, sad situation. Many are criticizing the neighbor for not letting the kids in. But, if you haven't listened to the whole recording, please do. You get a better sense of what was going on. And, unless you were in her shoes, you don't know what you would have done. It is clear this lady is distraught at times over the incident. I am a black woman, and I don't think racism was a factor. I think fear and chaos were the biggest factors. This woman knows who these people are, and doesn't utter a harsh word about the family, other than that there has been trouble at the house since they moved in. But, she knows all but one of their names, and she doesn't know what is happening. These parents had their own kids to protect, and they didn't know who was shooting who. Sadly, the mother felt she had no other alternative for saving her children or herself.

I listened to thel whole recording and when she realized the mother was the one shooting she still wouldnt allow the children into her house. Those kids may have been saved had she opened up the door. I know what I would of done!

I know that ultimately it was the mother's decision to kill her kids and herself, but I do not understand why the neighbor's didn't let the kids in the house. They sound like some bad neighbor's as well. You have to be kind of heartless to see a kid bleeding at your door and pleading for you to help and you tell them to get away from your door. The neighbor husband said that he had a gun. I just get the since that the neighbors really didn't care either way about the black family next door. They are more than likely racist or indifferent to their black neighbors anyway. This is the true american reality...no unity at all. They could have saved some of those kids life and instead they chose to sit back and watch them die. Some great neighbors they were!

Unbelievable how long it took the cops to get there. The dispatcher kept saying that deputys were already there yet the neighbors kept asking where. After the dispatcher tells the neighbor that deputys were already there the neighbor says she hears more gunshots and tells the dispatcher she sees the mom on the front yard. NO cops were there. Dispatcher lied. Makes me wonder if any lives could have been saved if they responded as soon as reported.

I didn't listen because I'm not sure I could take it. Does the recording indicate that the neighbors refused to let them in? I didn't read anything in the article to indicate the neighbors had refused to help them only that she called them back and they went.

Horrific story. No way to understand something like this.

One of the articles points out that the neighbor told the kids, "Get back. You're not getting into my house." In the recording, they first think that the youngest shot the mom, then get another story.

I did hear the recording and heard the neighbor refuse to let them in. But it appears that there was already trouble with that family that got shot and the neighbors weren't sure who had a gun. They did tell the cops that there was an incident there on Easter where one of the kids kicked out a window. She sounded like the cops should already be familiar with this family.

I can not blame anyone who did not open the door for doing so.. I know they will blame themselves enough. I do not understand why a mother would kill the children they brought into the world and if it came to this end there must have been some warning signs. I read where it was stated that a caller said "she must have shot them" leads me to believe that she was abusive before and for not calling then I do blame them!

Thanks for that. The people across the street are my parents. They are now getting death threats because they didn't let anyone inside thier own house during all of the confusion. I'd like to see what all of these loudmouths would do had they been the ones in this situation. Talk is cheap.

I have taught my kids to not try and stand their ground if someone breaks in on us. I have taught them to let Mom and Dad handle the intruder and for them to run to the nearest neighbors house, bang on doors until someone answers, and get help. My reasoning: Who would turn a child away who is begging for help?
Guess we know now.
Self defence classes and the gun range are in my kids IMMEDIATE future...
