Wells Fargo Foreclosure Leads Man To Commit Suicide

Wells Fargo Foreclosure

AlterNet:

Norman and Oriane Rousseau were one more couple pushed by a huge, greedy bank to the brink of homelessness. On Sunday, desperate and with nowhere to go, Norman Rousseau shot himself.

This is the story of what happens when an average couple is up against a giant, wealthy, powerful bank. Unfortunately the result is what the result always is when people are on their own against the wealthy and powerful: the bank ends up with all of their money, takes their house to sell and throws them out onto the street. In this case the bank is Wells Fargo.

These "to big to fail" banks and institutions MUST be broken up!!!! They are like mini countries with their own set of "laws" and "rules". They have no allegiance to the USof A or to their consumer. They have accumulated trillions of dollars in assets and money!!

There should be criminal penalities for commiting "loan modification fraud" in other words, purposely losing documents, lying, misrepresenting, unwilling to work constructively with the consumer...employees who knowingly participate in something like this should face jail time because they are just as guilty as the person instructing them to do so, ,, or do the right thing or whistle blow!! (an anonymous state call in telephone number and protection if discovered) An individual can't fight and win against a multi billion dollar corporation without the help of the law!! that's all we got...and our CONSUMER POWER to move our funds from these "to big to fail" banks!!

Having been through a situation similar to the Rousseau's (except I was fortunate enough that it was my car instead of my home), I wondered how many people have been through the same situation. How many people have felt the same painfully unjust feeling of being financially raped by banks? How many people feel alone and abused? We need to speak up and share our stories with one another. We need to bring out the best in our community and stand up to these banks through unity. This is for you Mr. and Mrs. Rousseau:
Please share your predatory bank story here:

There is no comparison to losing your home to losing your car...sorry, as traumatic and frustrating the experience may have been..sorry

I agree!! there should be criminal charges against "loan modification fraud"...there's laws against the consumer for fraud!! There must be laws for the banks as wel...must be strongly enforced!!l...target the individual employee who knowlingly commits it when confronted to commiting this type of fraud they have the option to anoymously whistle blow! Also, these "too big to fail" institutions must, must be broken down..period!! They have trillons of dollars in accumulated wealth and no loyalty to this country or it's laws.they act like they are a country unto themselves...we must vote in officials who will do the will of the people!!

fargo's representitive that decided to go to war with the rousseaus needs to be brought up on charges
unless they were following fargo's prescribed proceedure {as many as six calls per day, some late at night}
in which case fargo should be brought up on charges of manslaughter
after all if we can through a person in prison we should be able to through a corporation in prison

All because the bank misapplied a payment and refused to correct it.

Someone needs to go to jail for this one.

State-run banks or nationalizing our banking industry would put Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and Citibank out of business.

Think about all of those gluttonous, greedy, richy-rich bank execs making millions of dollars off of your/our credit cards, home loans, student loans, checking and savings accounts. That money could go back into the state. With that money, each state could fund their own health care system. Or if we nationalized the banks the profits could go to fund a single-payer healthcare system.

JPMorgan Chase lost $3 billion dollars on derivatives gambling. And that’s just this week. And that’s just JPMorgan Chase.

$3 Billion dollars is about 1/3 of the cost of President Obama's healthcare plan.

Lost in derivatives gambling.

Isn't there any way to get an injunction against a bank?

Honestly, there should be a number of people from Wells Fargo in handcuffs right now.

I read this story this morning on AlterNet. It ripped my heart out becasue it is happening all over the nation and congress is too busy running for office to worry about the peoples business or the people for that matter, If there ever was a reason to have publicly funded elections and tern limits this is it. Make the government responsible to the people and not the banks and Wall Street. Of course it will not happen unless it is a constitutional amendment becasue the Supreme Court will just overturn it as a violation of the free speech rights of the Corporations.

We used to call them loan sharks, and we used to throw their ^sses in jail.

Let's go back to that.

Capitalism out of control.
I wonder how many other people committed suicide because of the banks.
The board and investors must feel very proud of themselves.

Banks with their ridiculous fees. They try to nickel and dime the customer to death. You literally have to pay them to take your money while all the time they are making money off of your deposited funds. Banks have become big blood suckers!

The bank employees who were part of this will still sleep well at night because they'll get their bonuses.

The economy will improve and people will have money and freedom again. I hope they remember what the banks did and hold them accountable
07:53 AM on 05/25/2012
..yes, and we will all live happily ever after...NOT, not until something is done to break up these banks and other "to big to fail" institutions...just look at what JP Morgan did the other day "gamble" wilh people money...they suppose to be a bank!! We citizens and consumers MUST take action, and vote in people who will truly represent "the people" and work on our behalf to right so manyof these injustices!

Yes, the economy will improve...but we must make sure that something like this never happens again!
