I will always remember Donna from the 70's when I was at the end of High School,,,,,I wasn't the biggest fan of most of the disco stuff at the time, but her music really moved at a great pace, and just made you wanna move around, if not dance.....her voice was Outstanding, and she was a real Lady, with a great attitude towards people. My Wife and I saw two of her recent concerts at Atlantic city and Wolf Trap in Virginia......no one sat in their seats.....they were dancing or rocking around......she was just a fantastic entertainer/singer......RIP.....Heaven gets another Angel.

What a loss. :-(

I am at the age where, when it comes to losing the singers, the writers, the comedians, etc., which were so important in my life, time does not march on - it races on - and every year it goes faster. I think of those people as my "significant others." Donna Summers was one of them.

Oh my . . . this is very sad. I remember "growing up" with Donna Summer, not just as the so-called "disco queen", but as one of the most spectacularly talented, unique vocalists the world has ever heard.

There will never be another like her. RIP . . .

love Donna Summer! I went to see her at Madison Square Garden in 1979 with my boyfriend and my friends, and her sisters Linda and Andrea were her back up singers who she introduced to the audience. They brought the HOUSE DOWN with Last Dance! They kept singing the chorus in a gospel style and they were absolutely wonderful! Donna Summer was the soundtrack of my life in High School and in the Army. She even performed in Japan and Gernamy where I was stationeed. I had all of her albums and she was the bomb! I wish the young people today, could have experienced her magnificient voice during the Disco Era!

Another huge loss. Donna Summer was one of a kind and as Quincy Jones said, "the heartbeat and the soundtrack of a decade."

We've lost too many this year, just way too many 2012 celebrity deaths:
