The Week's Best Tweets About Parenting

First Posted: 05/18/2012 11:50 am Updated: 05/18/2012 11:50 am

About a month ago, Susan Orlean cracked us up when she tweeted the following: "This morning, apropos of nothing, my 7 yo son announced, "Mom, you're the master of sex!" #ikidyounot #heartattack #yetflattered." As it turns out, he's not the only child commenting on his mom's sex life. This week, "Wild" author Cheryl Strayed shared a remark from her own son: "My son, examining my driver's license for the first time: 'Why does it say "Sex: F"? Did you fail at sex, Mommy?'"

What else were parents talking about on Twitter? Well, Julius Sharpe and Jamie Reeves both noted just how expensive children's birthday parties can be. And that's not all -- click through the slideshow below to see our favorite tweets of the week.

The milk of justice! Love that.

Last year, I took three of my boys to the hair salon (the eldest is 22, he can get his own hair cut now). The youngest was 6 and tends to freak out over some things so the 15 year old went first followed by the 7 year old and finally the 6 year old. The first two were finished and we're waiting for the youngest when a bald gentleman comes in with his teen. The gentleman sits to wait for his son and my darling 7 year old walks up to him, looks him straight in the eye and says, "Why are you here?"

I invited a complete stranger inside my house when I was six to use the phone. I asked my mom who had her back turned if a man could use the phone and she said absolutely not. she then turned around to see the man standing right beside me hehe.
