President Obama's re-election campaign announced actress Sarah Jessica Parker will host a fundraiser event for the president at her Manhattan home.
First Lady Michelle Obama will also be present for the June 14 event titled, "A New York Night."
In an email to campaign supporters, Parker encouraged donations for as little as $3. Each donation would automatically enter supporters for a chance to attend the fundraising event. Parker wrote:
For me, this election is even more important than 2008.
As a woman, a mother, and an entrepreneur, I need to believe our country can be a place where everyone has a fair shot at success.
This November's election will determine whether we get to keep moving forward, or if we're forced to go back to policies that ask people like my middle-class family in Ohio to carry the burden -- while people like me, who don't need tax breaks, get extra help.
A longtime Obama supporter, the actress also attended George Clooney's star-studded fundraising event on May 10 where big-time donors including Robert Downey Jr., Salma Hayek, and Barbra Streisand were also in attendance.
The $40,000 per ticket, event hosted by Clooney raked in a cool $15 million for the Obama campaign.
