"Scandal" Season 1 Finale: the First Lady helps cover up the President's affair

On the "Scandal" (Thu., 10 p.m. ET on ABC) Season 1 Finale the President's ill-advised affair with a White House intern was threatening to destroy his political career.

But then Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) managed to enlist damage control help from an unexpected source.

As the Vice-president's chief of staff was about to publicly reveal a recording of the president’s affair with the intern, the First Lady (Bellamy Young) coolly said, "we also figured out who the woman on the tape is. ... It was me."

Check out HuffPost TV's interview with Kerry Washington in which she talks about the cliffhanger ending to her show's freshman season.
