Sean Massaro, New Jersey School Board Candidate, Faces Mom's Opposition

But a week later his mother Jeanne said the teen should focus on schoolwork when he begins his freshman year as a nursing student at Caldwell College.

"Sorry, he is not running[,] everyone," Jeanne wrote on May 11. "College is just too expensive to let something like this sideline his education. Nursing is a tough major. He will have plenty of time to do this after he graduates from college."

Sean Massaro on Wednesday declined to comment on the status of his candidacy.
