NEW YORK — Little Orphan Annie has found a home finally – the Palace Theatre.
Producers of "Annie" said Monday that the revival of the musical about the plucky redhead will move into the Broadway theater being vacated by the musical based on "Priscilla Queen of the Desert."
"Annie," starring 11-year-old Lilla Crawford, will begin previews on Oct. 3 and will open on Nov. 8.
The musical, which features music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin and book by Thomas Meehan, will be directed by three-time Tony winner James Lapine and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler.
Based on the beloved comic strip that debuted in 1924, "Annie" first opened on Broadway in 1977 and ran for almost six years, fueled by songs including "It's the Hard-Knock Life" and "Tomorrow."
