Originally intended as nothing more than a swift means of transportation, bicycles have morphed into something more. In traffic-heavy urban areas, bikers band together to support green travelling, so it's only natural that these eco-friendly folks should take pride in their vehicles. Choosing a bike frame and customizing its details is a way of expressing oneself. More fashion-forward pedalers find themselves ruminating: Is the sleekness of a single-speed worth the effort? Will a new paint job clash with my favorite wedges? Basket or no basket?
