Javier Colon Calls Rumored Feud With Adam Levine 'Horrible'

This week, “The Voice” season one winner, Javier Colon, is getting ready to open for Maroon 5 on tour. This might surprise people since there have been rumors lately that Javier and his former “Voice” coach, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, are no longer friends.

But Colon, who just released his new single “A Drop in the Ocean,” (which he performed on the season finale of "The Voice" last week), says rumors that he and Levine are fighting couldn't be further from the truth.

“It’s horrible,” Colon said when we asked him about the rumor that Levine refused to perform with him on "The Voice" last week.

"I mean, the fact of the matter is that we were all there to promote our new single on “The Voice,'” Colon said. "My new single 'A Drop in the Ocean,' doesn't have anybody on it and it's not the kind of song that would've been good for Adam and I to {sing} together in two minutes and 15 seconds," he explained.

"I never even asked Adam to perform the song with me honestly, because it wouldn’t have made any sense," Colon added.

The 34-year-old half-Dominican, half-Puerto Rican singer says he knew people would jump to conclusions when he performed the song without Adam, especially since the other three season 1 contestants all performed with their former coaches.

"I had a feeling that people would wonder why that was," he said. "But it had nothing at all to do with Adam not wanting to do it. It was really silly."

Asked if he and Adam are still as close as they were when he was competing on "The Voice," Javier said, "Absolutely. I saw him last week when I performed on the show and it's awesome. Like I said, we're touring together, we're doing some shows together. There's nothing wrong between me and Adam at all," he said.
