Nathan Bihlmaier's Body Found: Missing Harvard Business Student Discovered In Maine Harbor

Missing Harvard Business Student's Body Recovered

The body of a Harvard Business School student was recovered from a Maine harbor on Tuesday, three days after the man disappeared during a drunken night out in celebration of his upcoming graduation.

Portland police divers pulled the body of Nathan Bihlmaier, 31, from the water in Portland's Old Port around noon. The Kansas native, scheduled to earn his MBA on Thursday, went missing early Sunday morning after being ejected from a waterfront bar.

Portland Police Chief Michael Sauschuck called the discovery -- which was not deemed suspicious -- a "tragic end."

“We had high hopes throughout working with the family and the community to bring Nate home," said Sauschuck, according to the Boston Herald. "These weren’t the circumstances that we wanted."

On Monday, detectives found a piece of Bihlmaier's clothing in the harbor. At the time they remained optimistic of his safe recovery, The Bangor Daily News reported.

The soon-to-be Harvard Business School graduate leaves behind a pregnant wife who is expecting the couple's first child, the New York Daily News reported.

Sauschuck said police do not suspect foul play but will nevertheless send the body to a medical examiner.
