Rainy Day Hair Fix: Charlize Theron's Braid Bun Hairstyle (VIDEO)

WATCH: A Surprisingly Gorgeous Rainy Day Hair Fix

My morning beauty routine has been turned upside down these past two days thanks to weather reports filled with nothing but downpours here in New York City. Instead of heading into the office with big and bouncy curls, my fear of extreme frizz has forced me to pin up my hair. While my locks are certainly protected from the elements, I've rediscovered a much more pulled-together look thanks to Charlize Theron.

Inspired by the scalloped neckline of an Azzedine Alaia couture gown she wore to the 2012 Critics Choice Awards, Charlize's longtime hairstylist Enzo Angileri created an intricate braided bun. The combination of sleekness in the front and texture in the back makes for a sophisticated, yet simple hairstyle. And it doesn't require a blow dryer or curling iron -- meaning more time to perfect your pink lipstick.

Watch the video above as Angileri takes us through the steps to achieve this braided hairstyle, including how he uses mousse to prevent side-swept bangs from falling into eyes and hairspray to tuck in strands while braiding.

Meanwhile, find out a trick to keep your hair from puffing up the minute you walk outside on a rainy day.
