Woman Charged With DUI In Crash That Killed 8-Year-old

A 23-year-old Skokie woman has been charged in the crash that killed an 8-year-old boy, according to a police statement released Wednesday.

Hanin Goma, of Skokie, has been charged with one count felony aggravated driving under the influence resulting in death, and one count misdemeanor driving under the influence. Goma was also cited for failing to yield at a stop sign and failing to provide proof of insurance.

Earlier, the Village of Skokie issued a press release Tuesday that the accident was caused by human error and that, "Village engineers will evaluate the intersection for any safety deficiencies that might have contributed to the crash."
