'Smash' Cast Reacts To Season 2 Shake-Up

'Smash' Cast Sounds Off On Shake-Up

"Smash" Season 2 will look very different (that's pretty much a good thing) and several cast members have taken to Twitter to react to the shake-up.

Raza Jaffrey (Dev), Jaime Cepero (Ellis), Brian d'Arcy James (Frank) and Will Chase (Michael Swift) are exiting stage left for Season 2. The departures come as former "Gossip Girl" executive producer Josh Safran takes control of the series from outgoing creator/showrunner Theresa Rebeck.

Some of the cast took to Twitter to respond to the big changes.

A source close to the series told HuffPost TV that characters may appear to wrap up their storylines, but they will not be series regulars when the show returns to NBC midseason.

In the Season 1 finale, Dev was last seen watching his former fiancee Karen (Katharine McPhee) take the stage as Marilyn Monroe hours, which was just hours after she found out about his affair with Ivy (Megan Hilty). Eileen (Anjelica Huston) fired Ellis, but vowed revenge and Frank was getting his relationship with wife Julia (Debra Messing) back on track after her affair with Michael.

When HuffPost TV visited the "Smash" set in January 2012, Season 1 was already well underway and McPhee was thinking ahead to guest stars for future seasons.

"Some young, hunky guy to come in maybe the second or third season to have a really quick moment with," she said. "Whether it's a dream sequence or not, but I just get to make out with him. Maybe Ryan Gosling. RYAN GOSLING! That's who it is!"
