Colby Dauenhauer, Texas Teen, Survives Plane Crash, Saves Girlfriend And Her Father (VIDEO)

WATCH: Teen Saves Girlfriend And Her Father From Plane Crash That Killed His Dad

A Texas teen is being declared a hero after pulling his girlfriend and her father to safety after their plane crashed and burst into flames on May 20.

Colby Dauenhauer, 19, was returning home from a trip in Louisiana when the plane went down in Wise County, Texas, NBC 5 reports. His father, Steve Dauenhauer was flying the plane but did not survive the crash.

The three surviving passengers suffered burns to their bodies. And while Dauenhauer is in stable condition, his girlfriend, Breann Jarvis, and her father, Jason Jarvis, are both listed in critical condition.

Last year, Austin Hatch, a 16-year-old basketball player from Indiana, fought for his life after surviving a plane crash for a second time.

The accident claimed the lives of his father and stepmother.

Hatch and his father, Stephen, had previously survived a plane crash that killed the teen's mother and two siblings in 2003, the Associated Press reports.

But earlier this month, Hatch told the Detroit Free Press that he vowed to play basketball for the University of Michigan in 2013. The teen had accepted a full-ride scholarship with the school before the accident.

Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated Austin Hatch was from Michigan. The teen is from Fort Wayne, Ind.
