Detroit Financial Chief Wants Help From Obama Team

CFO Asks Obama Admin For Help

By Leonard Fleming

The city's new chief financial officer said he will ask the Obama administration to loan Detroit some executive help as he seeks to increase revenue and cut spending to keep the city from crumbling financially.

In an interview with The Detroit News, Jack Martin said his priorities include revamping the city's information technology department and making City Hall more efficient. He also said he has no desire to become an emergency manager, as some have speculated, if the city's consent agreement with the state fails.
