Los Angeles Kings Twitter Account Tweaks New Jersey Devils Before Stanley Cup Finals

Kings Call Out Devils On Twitter

The Los Angeles Kings aren't waiting for the puck to drop in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Wednesday before taking a swipe that the New Jersey Devils. Over the Memorial Day weekend, @LAKings took a jab at the Devils' (@NHLDevils) home state on Twitter.

Eventually (and perhaps due to some prodding), @NHLDevils stuck up for the Garden State.

The L.A. hockey handle has been getting increasingly combative as the team has made its unexpected chase for the Cup as the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference. Even celebrities have been targeted by the Kings, like when Conan O'Brien tweeted a joke about the eighth-seeded underdogs earlier this month.

According to Sports Business Journal, the Kings' Twitter account began the postseason with approximately 70,000 followers. The team was approaching 130,000 less than 24 hours before Game 1.
