Condoleezza Rice To Endorse Mitt Romney In 2012 Presidential Election

Condoleezza Rice Makes 2012 Endorsement

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will endorse Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney at a California fundraiser Wednesday night, CBS News reports.

CBS reporter Sarah Boxer tweeted the news early Wednesday evening:

Rice's input follows several other high-profile Romney endorsements, including former President George W. Bush and his brother, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush. The endorsement is largely ceremonial after Romney surpassed the 1,144 delegates required to clinch the GOP nomination.

Rice has repeatedly said she is not interested in being Romney's VP, noting that she thinks "he'll find a fine vice president."

"Somebody who actually wants to run for office would be a good start," she said in early May.
