Spurs, Thunder Fans Fight: Brawl Breaks Out In Stands During Game 2 Of Western Conference Finals (VIDEO)

Spurs, Thunder Fans Brawl In Stands

Before the fourth quarter of Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals got underway, fans of both the Thunder and Spurs apparently battled each other in the stands with a level of ferocity as high as anything displayed on the court.

According to the description accompanying the video of the incident on YouTube, the altercation began when a Thunder fan waved a Kevin Durant jersey in the air. The YouTube chronicler claims that an intoxicated Spurs fan snatched the jersey away and threw it. The situation escalated fast as the OKC fan got angry and punched the San Antonio supporter. Although the video itself is a blur of pushing and shoving, the description also alleges the Thunder fan's girlfriend got involved and the San Antonio fan involved hit and choked her. Cops tried to intervene but more fans (supposedly even someone's mother) joined in on the brawl.

TNT cameras also caught a glimpse of the fight.

This kind of fan violence has rarely been seen at basketball games. Outside the stadium, however, is a different story. After the Thunder clinched their second-round series against the Lakers, shots were fired in a crowd in Oklahoma City a few blocks from Chesapeake Energy Arena.

There have already been a few fights in the stands during Major League Baseball games this season alone. Fighting in the stands at NFL games seems like it's almost a routine occurrence.
