Barbara Bush & Michelle Obama Wear Coordinating Prabal Gurung To The White House (PHOTOS)

There was a big ol' family reunion going on at the White House today, as former President George W. Bush and former first lady Laura Bush finally had their formal portraits unveiled.

There to fete the paintings, which were commissioned by the White House Historical Association, was the entire Bush and Obama gang -- and, fortunately, lots of photographers!

George W. and Laura were there, of course, with the latter in a teal dress with coordinating necklace; President Obama was smiling the whole way through (especially in a particularly awesome group picture of the two couples); and Michelle Obama was classic FLOTUS in a pale Prabal sheath, a repeat from May 2010.

But turns out Mrs. O's not the only Prabal lover in the White House: Barbara Bush, there with sis Jenna, was also wearing Prabal today. Twinsies! The two posed in their coordinating dresses (Babs' was from Spring 2012, Michelle's from Spring 2010) like the fashionable besties (we hope) they are.

In other fashion news, former president George H.W. Bush proved he is a total baller in red, white and blue striped socks. Who knew Bush Sr. had it in him? Certainly not us.

I'm sorry, but I had to lol at the Bushes faces in pic #2. I loved Pres. Bush #1's socks! Let me find out he's a secret hipster. The portraits are very nice. Loved what all the ladies had on but Mrs. Bush may have benefited from some smoothing undergarments, but the color is great on her.

Yes..both first ladies are lovely. I always admired Laura Bush. She is a class act. And I admired her fight for better education and literacy. I am happy that Michelle has chosen to take on childhood obesity and fitness as well as dealing with the issues that military families face.

I think it's a wonderful tradition and how thrilling it will be when President and Mrs. Obama's portraits are hung....after 2016 of course ;) Cannot underestimate the significance of the first African American portraits. Awesome.

Bush's polices were wrong. Time to move on and do the best we can do now. Obama's have a duty to show grace to their predecessors. It's just human decency.

While I do think Mrs. Bush seems like a nice person, it's time for her to lay off the plastic surgery. She's almost unrecognizable and plastic looking. It sad that a woman feels she has to choose that route instead of aging gracefully.

well, sad to say, I thought Michelle looked....mmm....uncomfortable.......she didn't go tight for the Obama's photo with GWB and Laura and dropped her arm and walked away milliseconds after the photo was taken...........I am a little flabbergasted........I can understand that there is political ideological hostility to GWB, but why be so stiff with Laura Bush? Is there something between the two first ladies that we aren't privvy to???

mssueme did not say that it was their house, but merely commented that they had really opened it up (more than past presidents).

They are very warm and gracious people who have extended themselves beyond the call of duty.
