Pierce Crowley Found Safe: Missing Rye Teen Returned To Family

UPDATE: Missing Rye Teen Found Safe

The 15-year old teenager from Rye, New York who went missing for nearly a week has been found safe.

Rye Patch reports Pierce Crowley was found in Washington Heights at approximately 12:30AM on Thursday. An attorney for the family said in an email, "Pierce Crowley has been found safely and returned to his family. Thank you so much for helping spread the word."

Crowley, a freshman at Iona Preparatory School, snuck out of New York Presbyterian Hospital in White Plains along with an unidentified 13-year old friend. Both teenagers were reportedly enrolled in "a program" at the hospital.

Following Crowley's disappearance, a wide-scale search effort began, with hundreds of volunteers chipping in for the family to raise awareness of the investigation.

A social media campaign also contributed to the search, which quickly gained national attention with celebrities including Kim Kardashian and Keith Olberman tweeting information about Crowley.

The Crowley family created the following YouTube video titled "Pierce, come home" below:
