Charlize Theron is at work on a modern day retelling of the classic "Hatfields & McCoys" legend. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Theron will serve as producer on the project that is currently in the works at ABC Studios.
News of the potential new series comes after History's "Hatfields & McCoys" broke cable records. The three-part series starring Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton delivered record ratings. Its finale had more than 14 million viewers, beating the record the premiere set.
A modern day take on the famous feuding families fits right in with ABC's soapy brand, especially with breakout hit "Revenge."
