Nick Swisher, Fan Fist-Bump: Man Runs On Field At Comerica Park During Tigers-Yankees Game (VIDEO)

Fan Fist-Bumps Yankees' Swisher Before Getting Tackled By Security

New York Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes may have been the star of the show on Sunday after throwing the first complete game of his career in a 5-1 win over Justin Verlander and the Tigers, but this fan only had eyes for Nick Swisher.

In the top of the ninth inning, a man made his way on to the field at Comerica Park and sprinted across the outfield toward the Yankees' right fielder. Upon reaching Swisher, the man extended his arm and the two exchanged what looked to be a fist-bump. The man continued to sprint through the outfield for several seconds before finally being corralled by security just short of the infield.

The well-traveled Swisher is apparently even a fan favorite in Detroit. After the game, he talked about his encounter.

“He runs over and he’s like, ‘Come on Swish, give me some dap’ ” Swisher said. “I was like well, hell, he’s going to jail. Why not?”

Judging from Swisher's Twitter account, his focus on Sunday night was still on Hughes and the team's victory in Detroit.

With voting for the 2012 MLB All-Star Game already underway, perhaps Swisher can count on at least one fan's vote in Detroit.

Here's another video of the fan getting tackled by security on the field.
