Jewel has always been a girl committed to her art. The musician poured her heart into her debut album "Pieces Of You," receiving four Grammy nominations and topping Billboard charts with her singles "Who Will Save Your Soul," "You Were Meant For Me" and "Foolish Games."
While the hair is most likely a temporary change, it's hard to tell from the photo if she fixed her actual teeth. We suspect that Jewel is sticking by her guns and sporting a pair of prosthetics. Check out the photo below and tell us what you think.

Anna Paquin
It's apt that the actress has found fame on the show "True Blood" -- a drama that, when you think about it, is really a lot about teeth. Because what we love about Paquin is her refusal to have that gap in her wide, warm smile closed up.
We agree with Winona Dimeo-Ediger over at The Frisky who wrote: "She is a conventionally beautiful woman, yes, but that little 'imperfection' sets her apart from the sea of similar faces gracing magazine covers today."
Madonna
One name, one awesome smile. The material girl has long had a little gap in between her two front teeth and has refused to go over board with the bleach.
Kirsten Dunst
Dunst has steadfastly refused to change her smile, telling Elle UK: "I love my snaggle fangs. They give me character and character is sexy."
Woody Harrelson
Men are hardly immune from hollywood pressure, but this actor has nonetheless kept his slight gap.
Jewel
The singer-slash-actress (slash-poet) once told Shape that she got her big break, acting-wise, precisely because she had not altered her smile.
Via People: "I asked [the director of "Ride With the Devil"], 'Why me? You could've had anyone you wanted. And he said, 'You have period teeth,'" she said. "So I got the job because I was the only actress in Hollywood who hadn't gotten her teeth fixed!"
Lara Stone
The gap in model Lara Stone's teeth practically made her famous. According to The Daily Mail: That imperfect grin "sparked a shift" in the quest for "pearly whites."
Vanessa Paradis
The French celeb is another member of the gap-toothed gang -- a feature that's often called out in magazines speaking about her willowy, unique beauty.
Seal
The crooner is another member of the gap-tooth gang, keeping the small space in his startling smile.
Lauren Hutton
Hutton has had an exceptionally long modeling career, and we wonder if her distinctive teeth haven't had something to do with it. Indeed, she's maybe the original gap-toothed model.
Steve Buscemi
Buscemi's distinctive teeth may not be everyone's cup of tea, but you've got to give him serious credit for not caving on them. And the actor even counts them as an asset, career-wise.
According to The Hollywood Reporter Buscemi has said: "I've had dentists who have wanted to help me out, but I say, 'You know, I won't work again if you fix my teeth.'"

I have "lesser unattractive teeth" and it sucks sometimes. I have been saving and saving to Beth them fixed on my own, unfortunately my parents never had the money to pay for braces. Now I'm 24 and still in this state, Jewel has always been my hero for choosing to keep her smile as is. Regardless, my plan has always and still is to fix my smile. I just wish there was an easier, inexpensive, and less painful way to fix my teeth than braces. Anyway, I think Jewel looks great before and after as well.

this is ridiculous...its not even the same person...look at the eyes jewel has brown eyes the "transformation" picture has clear blue...how did no one notice this...that and the foreheads are not shaped the same...really stop posting fake stories...

You clearly didn't read the article or look at the photos. This is a temporary "look" for a part she is playing of June Carter Cash. And, yes, it is Jewel with blue contacts and new teeth.

I'm not very familiar with veneers but I'm wondering if she had any extractions done to make them fit because her face looks less wide. Anyone who is encouraged to have extractions by Ortho needs to seek other consultations or other options because they cause one's face to look sunken in, while ignoring the underlying reasons for teeth crowding.
Lindeen: I'm not very familiar with veneers but I'm wondering if
They do not extract teeth except in extreme case (where there is a deformaty) like an extra tooth or the teeth do not fit in an extremely small jaw. Do you thi nk you would know better that an orthodontist what makes teeth crowded and how to solve the problem? Get serious. The underlying cause for most crooked teeth is that they start coming in while the other teeth are still there or they have misshapen jaws or they just sprout crooked.

Yes, I do know quite a bit on the subject because I've researched it AND discussed it with several Orthodontist's. They will not willingly come out and tell you that many cases of crooked teetch AND jaw deformities ARE the result of chronic cases of tonsillitis, undiagnosed/untreated deviated septums that lead to mouth breathing, and therefore an abnormal upper palate. A narrower upper palate will result in crowding. Please look up this information before you provide incorrect information - I have.

A plastic surgeon told Barbra Streisand that he could fix her nose, but could not guarantee it would not alter her voice. She chose to keep the original. I wonder if Jewel fixing her teeth would alter the shape of her mouth and change her voice? (I am still not sure if these are prosthetics or the real thing.)

OMG ! Thats Jewel?! She looks like a completely different person ! OMG ! Great job transformation guys! As for her new grin- what was wrong with it before?! I think her teeth look equally great then and now.

I think she looks very nice with her new teeth whether they are cosmetic or not. I never thought her own teeth were so bad either. she was and still is a qbeautiful woman. And what's wrong with having a gap in your front teeth? I had one as a child until my teeth crowded the space closed. I kinda wish I still had it. I could play Herschel in Fiddler on the Roof.
