'Real Housewives Of New Jersey' Drama In Full Swing At 'The View' Taping

'Real Housewives' Serve Up Drama On 'The View'

Friday morning, three cast members from "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" -- Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga and Kathy Wakile -- will sit down with the women of "The View" in an interview they taped Tuesday. Although there was plenty of drama for the cameras, backstage was where the women really showed how they felt about one another.

“Originally 'The View' booked three ladies and made it clear they wanted Teresa and Melissa and didn’t care who was the third," a show insider told me. "The plan was to do two segments: the first an honest conversation about their lives and the second as a more light hearted one. However, Teresa refused to appear with Melissa and after many conversations, it was decided Teresa would sit down with all the hosts and then Melissa and Kathy would be interviewed by Barbara Walters, Joy Behar and Elizabeth Hasselbeck.”

However, it wasn’t just on-camera that Teresa wanted to stay away from her sister-in-law and cousin. The drama was palpable backstage.

“They all had separate dressing rooms and Teresa got out of her car and went straight to her room," the insider continued. "After she taped her interview she left right away, she didn’t want to sit around and listen to what the other ladies had to say about her.”

Barbara Walters’ first question for Teresa was, "Why did you refuse to appear with you sister-in-law and cousin?” Teresa responded that she didn't feel she should do so in front of an audience, to which Walters said, “You do everything in front of a camera!”

"The View" airs tomorrow on ABC and "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on Bravo.
