I don't think he deserves 35 years for not paying the Waffle House tab, fleeing the scene and having a stand-off with police. He deserves 35 years for EATING at Waffle House.
He's lucky they didn't shoot and kill him over that fly infested garbage.

He aimed a shotgun at the waffle house employees, fled the scene, and then got into a physical altercation with the police while he was holding the shotgun.

He's lucky the police didn't shoot him. Huff should be ashamed of posting the title without the actual facts in the article.

Unfortunately incarceration & retribution has taken a back seat to rehabilitation.The most he would have gotten in Florida for the same crime would be 10yrs.More than likely it would have been plea bargained down to 2 to 3yrs. with lengthy probation.

Get into a physical altercation with the police, while resisting arrest and holding a shotgun, and you are going to jail for a very long time -- in any State.

In stead of spending all the money on courts and how ever many yrs he spends in jail
Would it not be cheaper just to give this man a job and a reason to live again,
People do things like this when their life is going down hill,
The governments need to do more to help the lower class

No people should not point shotguns at people when their life is going downhill, people should get help, go to rehab or off themselves not threaten the life of innocent people. If you were at the barrel of that gun wondering if you were going to live or die or a member of your family, I think you might change your mind. He'll get all the help he needs removed from society.

Speak of Irresponsible Jounalism. I was expecting a story about a man who got 35 years for not paying for his waffles. Misleading Headlines are the new form of attention-getting reporting. It's very sad and wrong. I want back the 4 minutes it cost me to read this story. :)
