Siri iPad: Apple's Personal Virtual Assistant Finally Coming To Best-Selling Tablet

Say Hello To Siri

Siri, meet iPad.

Apple announced on Monday that Siri, its robo-voiced virtual personal assistant, will be available on the new iPad when iOS 6 is released in the fall.

"We're taking Siri beyond the iPhone 4S, and we're bringing it to the new iPad," said Scott Forstall, Apple's senior vice president of iPhone software, according to PC Magazine.

Siri, which was introduced in November, is currently only officially available on the iPhone 4S.

Apple also announced a series of upgrades to Siri that will come with iOS 6, including restaurant information from Yelp and Open Table as well as movie reviews and ratings from Rotten Tomatoes. Additionally, Siri will be able open apps on the iPad and iPhone when the operating system is released in the fall.

Finally, over the next year, Siri may become a passenger in your car, as Apple introduces "Eyes Free" automobile integration. As Engadget reports, drivers will be able to control Siri using a button mounted on the steering wheels of some new cars.
