The Best Photos From A Quarter Century Of Condé Nast Traveler (PHOTOS)

A new book from Assouline and Condé Nast Traveler collects a quarter-century of stunning photos from the glossy pages of the storied travel magazine.

Simply titled "Condé Nast Traveler Photographs: 25th Anniversary Collection," the hefty $95 tome features images from such luminaries as David LaChapelle, Brigitte Lacombe and Helmut Newton, paired with essays from some of the magazine's most noteworthy correspondents, like Luc Sante, Paul Theroux and Simon Winchester.

A foreword from the magazine's editor in chief Klara Glowczewska introduces the book:

In the course of creating what would become Condé Nast Traveler, the conventions of travel journalism, both written and visual, came under review. ... The magazine would look at the world through a fresh lens, publishing not pictures of whitewashed Never-Never-Lands but highly articulated, distinctive images with points of view, depth and quality. It doesn’t seem radical now, but it certainly was back in 1987, when Condé Nast Traveler was launched.
