Funny piece from the ubber liberal Milbank of WashPost. I'll quote just the last half of it.

"For the White House, it was just the latest entry in the when-it-rains-it-pours ledger. This has been one of the worst stretches of the Obama presidency. In Washington, there is a creeping sense that the bottom has fallen out and that there may be no second term. Privately, senior Obama advisers say they are no longer expecting much economic improvement before the election.

Carney had the unenviable task of confronting the full arsenal of gloom at Monday afternoon’s briefing.

The AP asked about the president’s unfortunate private-sector-is-fine remark. The Reuters correspondent asked about the economic “head winds” from Europe. Ed Henry of Fox News Channel asked about the looming contempt-of-Congress vote against Attorney General Eric Holder. Margaret Talev of Bloomberg News asked about the Supreme Court striking down Obamacare. Norah O’Donnell of CBS News asked about calls for a special prosecutor to probe leaks. Victoria Jones of Talk Radio News asked about the stalled talks with Pakistan.

Carney sought relief by calling on TV correspondents from swing states, but the one from Wisconsin asked about the failed attempt to recall Republican Gov. Scott Walker and the one from Nevada asked about her state’s unemployment rate, the nation’s highest.

Mostly, though, questions veered back to the commerce secretary’s motoring.

AP Radio’s Mark Smith asked whether Bryson “is now on medical leave.”

The last of it:

“I would refer you to the Commerce Department.” (Eight hours later, Carney issued a statement saying that Bryson was indeed taking such a leave.)

Ryan asked about “mandatory physicals” for Cabinet nominees.

“I don’t have any details about that.”

A New York Daily News correspondent asked if Obama has confidence in Bryson staying on the job with a “felony rap.”

This one Carney answered — by not answering. “He is concerned about Secretary Bryson’s health and broadly about the incident,” the spokesman said — in marked contrast to the “absolute confidence” he said a moment later that Obama has in Holder.

Apparently Bryson will have to clean up his own wreckage. This White House has too many other pileups to deal with.

Another idiotic attempt to try and make up a scandal out of nothing. The problem of the Commerce Secretary is a tragedy, not evidence of alleged incompetence on the part of the Obama administration. The Secretary has a medical problem and it should be dealt with that way in the media.
But being a right winger, you imply that there is something unethical or otherwise improper about what happened. Your evidence please?

So much for a trend of things improving for Obama, No spinning this one. Not a good poll for Obama. I guess I'll hang on to TIPP and PPP and see whether other polls point to Ipsos or TIPP / PPP as the abberation.

Just an FYI, Gallup and Rasmussen produce B0/Mitt polls DAILY. They both have been showing about a tie for the past month or so. B0 is up a point or two one day, Mitt is up a point or two the next day. Either way, TIPP showing B0 leading by 4 is well within the margin of error of this poll.

Just FYI Rasmussen utilizes a partisan breakdown of plus 1.5% Republican advantage when every other pollster utilizes 6.5% (on average per pollster) Democratic advantage. I tend to look for that partisan breakdown before I give a poll any weight. Therefore Rasmussen only serves to show changes in polling data, not accuracy. Gallup does not provide partisan breakdowns for their tracking poll so I can't really comment on it.

If Romney wins, the obstruction will continue, and I can already say that that the opinion of the direction of the country will not change. It will just go back to where we were in 2007 and 2008.

I usually point the finger at the GOP, and like to talk about all the crazy statements that the likes of Michelle Bachmann, Sharron Angle, and George Allen have said. Tonight I'm being critical of Obama's communication this week to the Public. I think he's got to get in campaign mode, and he's still trying to sound like Republicans will actually be humbled enough to pass a jobs package. They will not pass a jobs package; In fact, if the GOP actually did get something done with congress, I still don't think Obama will have an easy time at re-election. I think Obama could pass a jobs package and still lose.

I think the GOP's attempts to obstruct this president, have made them look not like statesmen in a Democracy but more like warlords in a third world country.
