'Anger Management': Charlie Sheen, Martin Sheen Talk FX Series

Charlie Sheen's Co-Stars On Daring To Work With Him In 'Anger Management'

Despite all the trouble he's gotten himself into, Charlie Sheen doesn't seem to have any problems getting people to team up with him.

With the premiere of "Anger Management" (Thurs., June 28 at 9 p.m. ET on FX) right around the corner, Sheen's show is already set up for success. Not only is the series guaranteed an additional 90 episodes if the first 10 meet a certain quota, but his friends and family are completely supportive.

Not that Sheen expects anything less from his the people in his life -- or FX, for that matter. "They know what they're getting into," he said in an interview with The New York Times. "And they know it's not always going to be smooth sailing."

FX may know what it's getting itself into, but the same can't be said for Selma Blair, who plays Sheen's therapist, or Shawnee Smith, who appears as his ex-wife.

"[I was] pregnant, so I was in my own world," Blair told The Times of her knowledge of Sheen's meltdown that led to his eventual firing from "Two and A Half Men" in March 2011.

Smith had a similar story, noting that she was living in a "hole with three kids" when the opportunity to audition for "Anger Management" arose. "I saw Charlie and I said, 'Oh, Father, please give me this prayer.'"

Sheen's father Martin and ex-wife Denise Richards can't cry ignorance, but they're still happy to make guest appearances.

"He's nurtured and loved and cherished by all of us. We're very gratified that he's included us in this new project," Martin said. Richards shared a similar sentiment. "He's another one of my children," she said affectionately of Sheen, according to Rolling Stone.

"Anger Management," which stars Sheen as an angry baseball player-turned-therapist, premieres on Thurs., June 28 at 9 p.m. ET on FX. For more on Sheen, click over to The New York Times.
