Ryan Kwanten Is Proud Of 'True Blood' Character Jason Stackhouse

Will Jason Become A Vampire On 'True Blood'?

Jason is all grown up, and Ryan Kwanten couldn't be more proud!

In an interview with PARADE.com
, the "True Blood" star discussed the evolution of his character in Season 5 of the HBO series, and even let a little something slip about whether Jason would become a vampire.

"I don't think he would enjoy [being a vampire]," he said. "As much as he wants a supernatural, superhuman power, he's enjoying, almost as much as I am, being one of the few humans left in that town."

Vampire or not, Kwanten insists Jason is much less dimwitted and self-involved this season.

"He's making a conscious effort to have some direction in life and he's making a conscious effort to put other people before himself," he continued. "He mans up pretty well. Towards the end of the season, which we are shooting now, he puts the things he has learned into practice and starts to show his true colors. I'm kind of proud of the way he has grown up."

"It's great to finally see how this relationship with Eric began and also who Pam was before seh was a vampire. I think it explains, or supports, so beautifully what we know of Pam," she said.

"True Blood" airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
