Great Divide Brewing Turns 18 This Weekend -- Join The Celebration Saturday

This Saturday: Great Divide's Birthday Bash

When you think of a birthday party, what comes to mind? Streamers, ice cream cake, maybe a clown if you're lucky?

Great Divide Brewing will celebrate their 18th birthday this Saturday, and Hanna Laney, the brewing company's marketing guru, tells us the party won't have any of that.

No streamers. No ice cream cake. No clowns. And while she was suspiciously mum on miniature ponies, we're guessing they nixed that, too.

Instead, Great Divide plans to shut down a city block downtown at 2201 Arapahoe Street. A $25 cover will get you into the festivities, full of, says Laney, "delicious vittles and beer. Plus, free high fives."

On the beer end, the brewery has produced limited edition batches (the ticket allows for unlimited beer), including:
Wolfgang Doppelbock, Schwarzbier, Berliner Weisse, Leipzig Gose, India Pale Lager, Clayton Bigsby (a Tripel), Altbier, Oak Smoked Dunkelweiss, Hefeweizen, and one special yet-to-be-announced Yeti

Your admission comes with one food ticket (good for a "hefty snack"), but for the hungry among us, several food trucks will set up shop: Basic Kneads, Stick It To Me, Chef Driven, and Bob's Blazin' BBQ. And when you decide it's time to work off the calories, Great Divide promises to have live music.

The event will last from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16. Laney encourages guests to purchase tickets online to guarantee you get in, and kindly asks you leave pets at home.
