Womb Chair: Freyja Sewell, Artist, Creates Womb-Shaped Pod To Escape Interconnected World (PHOTOS)

Jam packed open space offices, crowded commutes and endless social media updates can make switching off an impossible endeavor in today's interconnected and densely populated cities.

Now, artist Freyja Sewell may have a solution by offering the chance to escape to the womb with her latest wool-pod design, notes Jezebel.

Dubbed "Hush", the dual-purpose chair gives frazzled and space-deprived workers the chance to hibernate in the round shaped solo unit or transform the pod into a cozy chair, explains PSFK.

"With so many ways to connect more than ever, we also need a way to escape," Sewell told The Huffington Post.

While the project took five months from concept to fabrication, Sewell said the idea has brewing for years.

"The 'womb' shape inspires very different feelings in different people; to me it is a warm, cosy space, for contemplation and rest," she wrote on her website.

While the womb chair is not yet for sale, Sewell told HuffPost she plans to bring the pod to market in the near future.
