Kolcraft Stroller Recall: Finger Amputations And Lacerations Prompt Huge Recall

Amputation Hazard Prompts Stroller Recall

Federal officials have issued a recall for a popular stroller sold in the United States after reports of finger amputations and lacerations.

So far, three children suffered fingertip amputations and two adults smashed their fingers while using the stroller made by Kolcraft, reports CNN.

Originally manufactured in China by Kolcraft, approximately 36,000 defective strollers were sold in the United States and Canada between January 2006 and June 2012, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Consumers should immediately stop using the defected strollers and and remember it is illegal to resell a recalled consumer product, CNBC notes.

The recall involves the Kolcraft Contours Options three- and four-wheeled strollers. Strollers included in the recall have model numbers starting with ZL002, ZL005, ZL008, ZL015 and ZL018.

Repair kits are being made available to owners of the above models and customers are being asked to contact Kolcraft for more information on the recall.
