these quotes are hilarious and true.

lena dunham is hilarious, successful, and smart.

and the angry little commenters here are not and never will be (especially the males). end of story. cue angry backlash against women who want to do something with their lives besides crapping out kids and taking abuse with a smile on their face.

I am disappointed...this is the face of 26 year old women? This girl is only concerned with sex and how she looks...I'm a 26 year old woman. The only thing I'm concerned with is making a home, my family and making money. There are so many people actually doing things with their life besides creating a show about lazy, spoiled girls.

There seems to be a huge disconnect between the people that "get" this show, and this mindset, and this writer/creator chick, and the people that don't, and both sides seem to have really aggressive opinions. What I think is that, its like being a teenager. When you are that age you cant picture yourself older and wiser, and when your in your twenties, its like that again, but you think you ARE older and wiser but your not. But saying that shows need to be written about people when they are 40 and have kids is like...everything else on TV. Everybody Loves Raymond. King of Queens. Modern Family. Parenthood. Pick a network and a time, and the American dream, 40 year old with kids making it all work is on. Nobody has tried to conquer this weird, awkward time when you're supposed to be an adult but really not ready for the deep commitment of life yet. Bravo to Lena Dunham for doing it. She is definitely speaking for a LOT of awkward, unsure, super-intelligent, slightly distracted, emotionally confused and financially un-savvy people, including myself. Keep doing it.

huh? like everybody is supposed to automatically figure out life without any trouble? and heaven forbid females talk about troubles they do have?

oh wait, i forgot we can rip apart and criticize women for everything and anything. girls in their 20s shouldn't be having any types of problems with anything, and certainly shouldn't be making media about it. that's only something for males.

I love her. I find it really exciting that someone like her is making a TV show, and I think it's groundbreaking. As it goes on Girls reveals itself more and more to be a very smart show that makes you sympathise with people you never thought you would. It's not easy or quick.

I find the backlash against Girls and her specifically to be very interesting, and you'll never be able to convince me that it doesn't say a lot about how we as a society treat women. People are ten times harder on her than they would be on a dude, but I really think she's smart and tough enough to have an understanding about that, and that's why she's going to make it and probably keep doing interesting stuff.

These quotes are so LAME!

Aren't there some interesting women you could write about? Maybe they are older than 26, maybe they were married for 30+ years and are raising their grand children because one kid went off the rails. If your going to have such this flaky girl routine let it be out the mouth of teenagers not 20 year old's. The really aren't suppose to be that dumb and applauding their mediocrity is probably why it happened.
