After Minnesota teen Danae Rodriguez helped save her father's life, she decided to take her dad as a very special date to prom. Danae's story is just one of many awww-inducing tales of teens and their fathers that have made local and sometimes national headlines this year.

    After high school senior Danae Rodriguez's father suffered life-threatening injuries in a car accident this past December, she stayed by his side throughout months of rehabilitation. The pair <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/01/danae-rodriguez-minnesota-teen-dad-prom_n_1468448.html" target="_hplink">went to prom</a> together this May. "I was honored to take my beautifully stunning daughter to her Senior Prom," Rodriguez's father Tim Ebert wrote on Facebook. "I am blessed."

    Australian teen Catie Rose was dying to meet her favorite band, One Direction, for the past two years; dad Anthony wanted to make her dream a reality. After two years of entering competitions for tickets to no avail, Anthony waited with his daughter outside the band's photoshoot so she could meet the band. When Catie Rose burst into tears of joy, her dad did, too. Later, Australia's <em>Today Show</em> promised Anthony and Catie Rose tickets to One Direction's next Australian concert.

    Stand-up comedian Mike Hanley could have done the standard father-daughter dance at his daughter Jessica's Bat Mitzvah. But why stop there? The duo performed a <a href="http://boston.cbslocal.com/2012/05/22/surprise-father-daughter-dance-goes-viral/" target="_hplink">five-minute dance routine </a>featuring songs from Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, and more. An instant viral hit, it's received more than 1.2 million views.

    At just 16, Amelia Hempleman-Adams became the youngest person to ski to the South Pole. She took on the challenge with her father David, who was the first person to reach both North and South Poles. "It's the first time I've been on a trek with him and now I know what it's like," <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-16135755" target="_hplink">she told the BBC</a>, citing "Dad's snoring" as one of the biggest challenges on the 17-day trek.

    After Chaddy woke up from his wisdom tooth surgery, he was woozy and still under the influence of medication. During this film clip, he talks to his dad on the phone and tells him how much he loves him. Hilarity ensues!

    <em>Modern Family</em> actress Sarah Hyland, who struggles with kidney displasia, received a second chance at life this year when her father gave her a kidney. <a href="http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2012/05/sarah-hyland-my-dad-gave-me-his-kidney/" target="_hplink">She told Seventeen</a>, "You know that family is always going to be there for you -- no matter what. My dad gave me a freakin' kidney!"
